Kith Collective was founded by a like-minded group of creatives with a strong sense of community. They envisioned a communal space to support members, promote craft-centric values, pool skills and share knowledge.
Taking my cues from the group’s shared vision, I researched traditional maker’s marks, seals and artist signatures. Musing on how quality and value is created and communicated through these visual signatures.
I created a monogram ‘K’ inside a deconstructed circle – representing the encircled community of friends and artists (or ‘Kith’).
In tandem, I designed a promotional campaign for their inaugural exhibition. To represent the multi-disciplines within the collective (jewellers, metal workers, fine artists, graphic designers, illustrators, textile designers, etc.), I created a series of abstract images made from core materials for use in the campaign.
